Traffic quality by source

Traffic quality by source

Focusing on the source that brings you the most traffic might be a mistake.

You look at your traffic sources. You see which one generates the most visits. And you tell yourself that’s where you need to focus your energy.

Except that volume doesn’t tell you much about quality.

In Webful, at the very bottom of the Trends tab in your analytics, you’ll find a section that many people overlook: traffic quality by source.

Take a look at my numbers.

Direct is my highest-volume source: 154 visits. Conversion rate: 15.6%.

Instagram: only 89 visits. Conversion rate: 29.2%.

Almost half the traffic. Almost twice as many conversions.

If I were looking solely at volume, I’d bet everything on direct traffic. But it’s Instagram that brings in truly qualified traffic.

Why? These visitors know me. They’ve watched my videos; they trust me. When they land on my site, they take action.

You can have less traffic and more customers. And that’s why I’m no longer chasing volume. I’m chasing quality.

For each source, Webful displays visits, page views, average time on site, and conversion rate. In just a few seconds, you’ll know where to focus your energy—and, more importantly, where not to waste it.

Want to try it on your own site? Try Webful for free: 30 days with all features enabled (automated reports, white-labeling, API), then choose the Free Plan for life or the Pro Plan at €3/site/month. No credit card required to get started.
